Ventura County Fire Department received a call for a brushfire in Simi Valley up in the hills. Firefighters were able to make access to the fire and found a 1 acre brushfire that quickly spread to 2 acres. The fire possibly was started by power lines that were above the start of the fire. Dozens of water drops were dropped from Ventura County helicopters which stopped the spread of the fire. The fire was held at 5 acres. A second brush fire in Simi Valley was just reported across the valley.
