A tragic hit-and-run incident took place late tonight night at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Melvin Avenue in Tarzana. Witnesses reported that a vehicle struck a male pedestrian, who was found lying unresponsive in the street. The vehicle fled the scene on Ventura Boulevard. Authorities have since declared the area a crime scene. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released pending family notification, was a local singer known for performing weekly at Fuego Grill. LAPD is actively searching for the driver responsible for the fatal collision.
LAPD located the vehicle involved in the incident. The vehicle, with significant front-end damage, was discovered on Vanalden near Ventura Blvd only a short distance from the crime scene. A crime scene photographer stopped by and photographed the accident. The front windshield of the vehicle was shattered with the damaged hood from striking the pedestrian. No suspect was found. The car was abandoned.
