Los Angeles, CA – May 24, 2024 At approximately 3:00 PM PDT today, a trash truck fire occurred at 22618 W Roscoe Blvd in Los Angeles. The incident involved a City of Los Angeles trash truck, where the contents inside the vehicle ignited. To prevent the fire from spreading and causing further damage, the truck operator made the swift decision to dump the entire load of trash onto the roadway. This immediate action helped to contain the fire within the trash, preventing the vehicle from catching fire.
LAFD responded promptly and successfully extinguished the blaze. However, the incident left a significant amount of trash scattered across the roadway. As a result, Roscoe Blvd has been shut down to facilitate cleanup efforts. The duration of the road closure remains uncertain at this time.
