LAFD was dispatched to the emergency department at West Hills Hospital for a belligerent male that locked himself in the bathroom and pulled the fire alarm. The suspect then injured his wrists. LAFD arrived and called for LAPD backup as the suspect was not complying. Once LAPD arrived and intervened, the suspect became even more agitated and violent with officers which prompted LAPD to broadcast a help call. Officers from both Topanga Division and Devonshire Division responded to the location and ended up tasing the suspect and eventually took him into custody. LAPD will be conducting an investigation on this incident. The suspect was still combative while the hospital staff checked him out and officers had to put a mask over his face. It took multiple officers to get him into the squad car to take him to the Topanga station. 6:40pm, 9-30-24, 7300 Medical Center Drive, West Hills (West Hills Hospital)
