At approximately 12:06am on LAPD and LAFD were dispatched to 5614 N Valley Circle in Woodland Hills for a car accident. They found a male suspect driving with a female passenger slumped over unconscious. The driver admitted to drinking and driving which was heard by 911 dispatchers. They found a white ford that collided with a black Tesla that was parked 200 feet down the road. The vehicle had struck the Tesla while traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle is in the middle of the front lawn of a home with the Tesla facing the opposite way. A neighbor who did not want to be on camera told me that “the man smelled of alcohol”. The female (wife of driver) was transported to the hospital unconscious. The scene was now a crime scene due to the injuries she sustained during the crash. LAPD Topanga officers and Valley Traffic Division officers performed a field sobriety test on the driver and he was stumbling while walking in a line. The suspect said “it is what it is” after failing to walk straight. He was tested with a sobriety test and was quickly placed in hand cuffs and arrested for dui and transported to the station. LAPD Topanga Division and Valley Traffic Division are now investigating the crime scene.
