This afternoon at 12:40PM VCFD responded to Lake Piru Canyon Rd near Lake Piru for a reported brush fire. Before arriving a large header of smoke could be seen in the area prompting a second alarm response to the fire. Evacuations were started in the areas of campground at Lake Piru. The fire currently sits 301+ acres. VC Emergency which posts updated info about evacuations and acreage by the County of Ventura had this update to provide.
