Approximately 1:20 PM, 911 dispatch received a call for a vehicle that went off the road and was in a ditch on Kanan Road. Fire department resources arrived on scene and found a white truck on its side approximately 25 feet off the side of the road. They made access to the vehicle and the driver was stuck inside the vehicle. They were able to extricate the patient from his car and with assistance from Malibu search and rescue. Rescuers put the man on a gurney and pull him safely back up to the road. Fireman then transported the patient to the ambulance and took him to a local hospital. The patient sustained a possible broken leg and other unknown injuries. A witness who saw the accident unfold in front of her, told us that the vehicle lost control from excessive speed, and the vehicle caught air and ended up in the ditch. CHP is investigating the incident.
