At approximately 7:45 PM LAPD received multiple 911 calls for a robbery in progress outside the REI at the Topanga Village. LAFD was also called due to an injured, elderly female. LAPD arrived on scene and quickly requested for back up due to a large fight. According to a witness who ran after the robbery suspect, he said that he saw the robbery happen and chase the suspect down by the Mc Donald’s that is behind the REI.The suspect tossed the purse into a white large vehicle with two suspects inside which drove off onto Topanga Boulevard. An elderly female and her dog were shoved to the ground, and she was bleeding due to injuries sustained from being pushed to the ground. LAFD paramedics checked her out for injuries. Security ran up and said that the suspects threw the purse out of the window of their vehicle when they drove off. They were able to safely return the purse to the lady with all of her belongings inside. One suspect was arrested by LAPD at Owensmouth and AMC Plaza a few blocks away from where the robbery occurred.
