At approximately 9:44 PM on 10-4-25 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to 6530 N Independence Ave to a reported sheared hydrant. Firefighters arrived to find a massive geyser of water spraying into the air at the corner of the intersection. Some witnesses said that a car hit it and took off after shearing off the hydrant. The road was completely flooded and the water was running down the street onto De Soto Ave. Firemen weren’t able to shut off the water so they contacted Dwp to come and shut off the water off.
